Official Specification
The active ingredient of Tone tablet is the synthetic
Thiamine hydrochloride, which possess the same biological
activity as natural Vitamin B1. This vitamin is directly
correlated with the carbohydrate intake.
Therapeutic Class
Tone Tab: Each tablet contains Thiamine hydrochloride BP
100 mg.
Dosage & Administration
Tone is specific in the treatment of the various
manifestations of Thiamine deficiency such as Beriberi,
Wernicke\'s encephalopathy, Diabetic neuropathy, Neuritis
associated with pregnancy and Pellagra. Supplementary
Tone may be indicated prophylactically in conditions
where there is low dietary intake or impaired
gastrointestinal absorption of Thiamine (e.g. alcohol) or
where requirements are increased (pregnancy,
carbohydrate rich diet).
Precaution
Mild to moderate chronic deficiency:
1 /4 tablet daily by mouth.
Severe deficiency:
2 -3 tablets daily by mouth in divided doses.
Contraindications
Tone (Thiamine hydrochloride) is contraindicated for the
patients with known hypersensitivity to Thiamine.
Precaution
Patients should be advised for proper dietary habits during
treatment so that relapses will be less likely to occur with
reduction in dosage or cessation of therapy.
Side Effects
Tone is well tolerated. There are no well documented side
effects.
