Preparation
Farobest 150 Tablet: Each film coated Tablet Contains Faropenem 150 mg.
Farobest 200 Tablet: Each film coated Tablet Contains Faropenem 200 mg.
Indication
1. Upper respiratory tract infections 2. Lower respiratory tract infections 3. Ear, nose and throat (ENT) infections 4. Genito-Urinary tract infections 5. Skin and skin structure infections 6. Gynecological infections
Contraindication
Faropenem is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of this product’s components or other drugs in the same class or in patients who have demonstrated anaphylactic reactions to beta-lactams.
Side Effect
Faropenem is generally well tolerated. The most frequently reported adverse reactions are diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and rash.
Precaution
Faropenem should be cautiously administered for the following conditions- hypersensitivity to penicillin and family history of atopy. Patients with renal insufficiency- The dosage should be reduced, or the interval between doses should be increased.
Drug Interaction
Imipenem and Cilastatin Sodium Combination: The concentration of Faropenem in the blood increases. It is due to the obstruction of metabolic fermentation by cilastatin.
Furosemide: The kidney toxicity of Faropenem increases.
Sodium valproate: The concentration of valproic acid in the blood reduces, and there is a recurrence of epileptic fits.
Use Children
Safety regarding therapy in infants has not been established. So, this medicine should be given only if the benefits of the treatment are greater than the risks involved.
Acute Overdosage
No specific information is available on the treatment of overdosage with Faropenem. In the event of an overdose, Faropenem should be discontinued.
Use Pregnancy Lactation
Safety regarding therapy during Pregnancy and Lactating mother has not been established. So, this medicine should be given only if the benefits of the treatment are greater than the risks involved.

Farobest 200 Tablet: Each box contains 3x7’s tablets in Alu-Alu blister pack.
Storage
Store below 30 ºC. Protect from light and moisture. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
