Preparation
Riz Tablet: Each film-coated tablet contains Cetirizine Dihydrochloride BP 10 mg.
Riz Syrup: Each teaspoonful (5 ml) syrup contains Cetirizine Dihydrochloride BP 5 mg.
Indication
Riz (Cetirizine) is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, pruritus and urticaria of allergic origin.
Contraindication
Riz (Cetirizine) is contraindicated in patients who have shown hypersensitivity to it or its parent compound, hydroxyzine.
Dosage & Administration
Riz Tablet: Adults and children over 6 years:
1 tablet (10 mg) daily or ½ tablet (5 mg) twice daily.
Children (1-6 years):
½ tablet (5 mg) daily or ¼ tablet (2.5 mg) twice daily.
Riz Syrup: Adults and children over 6 years:
2 teaspoonful once daily or 1 teaspoonful twice daily.
Children (1-6 years):
1 teaspoonful daily or ½ teaspoonful twice daily.
Side Effect
Riz is well tolerated. Side effects like mild drowsiness, headache and dizziness may occur rarely.
Precaution
Although animal studies have not indicated adverse effects, Riz, like most medications, should not be used during pregnancy and lactation unless it is considered essential by the physician. Patients are advised not to exceed the recommended dose if driving car or operating machinery.
Drug Interaction
No clinically significant drug interactions have been found with theophylline at a low dose, azithromycin, pseudoephedrine, ketoconazole, or erythromycin.

Riz Tablet: Each Box containing 10×10 tablets in blister pack.
Riz Syrup: Amber glass bottle containing 60 ml syrup.
