Indication
Novelta is indicated in hyperacidity, gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastritis, heartburn, dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux. Novelta is also indicated for the relief of flatulence, abdominal distention and windy colic.
Contraindication
Magaldrate is contraindicated in patient with known hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminium. It is also contraindicated in patient with impaired renal function.
Dosage & Administration
Novelta Chewable Tablet: 1-4 tablets, 20 minutes to 1 hour after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by the physician. Novelta Suspension: 2-4 teaspoonful (10 to 20 ml), 20 minutes to 1 hour after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by the physician.
Side Effect
Mild constipation may occur in a small percentage of patients.
Precaution
Patient should be cautious, if allergic to any ingredients of Novelta, with a history of kidney problems or taking citrate salts (found in some calcium supplements, antacids, and laxatives). Do not take with tetracycline antibiotics. Antacids can interfere with the absorption of iron preparations. Children: Not recommended under 6 years of age unless properly diagnosed. Lactation: No known risk as the drug does not appear to be absorbed by GIT. Pregnancy: Pregnancy Category-C, use only when necessary, avoid chronic high dose.
Drug Interaction
It should not be used in patients who are taking Tetracycline. The drug may cause reduced bio-availability or slower absorption of a no of drugs including propranolol, isoniazid prednisolone and Naproxen

Storage
Store in a cool (below 30 ºC) and dry place, protect from light. Keep all madicines out of the reach of children.
