Preparation
Nosedex Tablet: Each film-coated tablet contains Fexofenadine HCl USP 120 mg.
Nosedex Suspension: Each 5 ml Suspension contains Fexofenadine HCl USP 30 mg.

Indication
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Contraindication
Tablet
Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis and Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria:
Adults and Children _> 12 years: 60 mg (1/2 tablet) twice daily or 120 mg
(1 tablet) once daily or 180 mg (1.5 tablet) once daily with water.
Children 6 to 11 years: 30 mg twice daily.
Suspension
Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis:
Children 2 to 11 years: 30 mg (5 ml or 1 tsf) twice daily.
Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria:
Children 2 to 11 years: 30 mg (5 ml or 1 tsf) twice daily.
Children 6 months to less than 2 years of age: 15 mg (2.5 ml or 1/2 tsf) twice daily.
Dosage & Administration
Fexofenadine is generally well tolerated. The most commonly reported adverse events are headache, nausea and dizziness.
Side Effect
Fexofenadine is known to excreted by the kidney and toxic reactions to this drug may be greater in patients with impaired renal function. As elderly patients are more likely to have decreased renal function, care should be taken in dose selection & renal function should be monitored. Initial dose in patients with renal impairment should be reduced to 60 mg once daily.
Pregnancy category C. There are no adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant women. Fexofenadine should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
It is not known if Fexofenadine is excreted in human milk. Therefore caution should be exercised when Fexofenadine is administered to a nursing woman.
Precaution
Plasma concentration of Fexofenadine is increased during co-administration with Ketoconazole or Erythromycin and antacid containing Aluminium and Magnesium Hydroxide reduces the bioavailability of Fexofenadine.

Nosedex Tablet : Each box contains 3x10 tablets in blister pack.
Nosedex Suspension : Each bottle contains 40 ml Suspension.
